Cupcakes and Murals

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

During a recent Philadelphia delivery we noticed this awesome mural on the corner of Lombard and the Avenue of the Arts.  Isn’t it beautiful?  The Philadelphia Mural Arts Program has a nice website. Check it out!  We couldn’t find this specific one, however, they do have a search option which allows users to find murals around the city. We’re sure they’ll be a cupcake in a mural someday – if there isn’t one already!  Here’s hoping!

Back to cupcakes…

Below are photos from two of our recent deliveries.  The first photo shows chocolate cupcakes with yellow vanilla buttercream frosting and fall colored sugar crystals.  The second photo shows peanut butter cupcakes which had Oreo cookies mixed-inside and chocolate buttercream frosting.

Weekend Delivery

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

These cupcakes were delivered for a party this weekend!

Vanilla Pound Cupcakes with Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

Chocolate Cupcakes with Orange Vanilla Buttercream Frosting and Pink Sprinkles

Banana Cupcakes with Pink Cream Cheese Frosting and Orange Sprinkles

Pool Ball Cupcakes!

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

These themed cupcakes were a special request from a special friend.  Although they were fun and challenging to bake they’re not something we can offer everyday.  Firstly, we don’t care much for the taste of fondant.  (We put a layer of buttercream on each cupcake before adding the fondant to reclaim some good flavoring.)  Secondly, it took quite a long time!

Mother’s Day Cupcakes

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

These were ordered for a very special mother.  Happy Mother’s Day!

This customer ordered the Grandma Bonnie chocoloate cake with pink sprinkles mixed-in, light pink vanilla buttercream frosting and pink and purple sprinkles.  Here’s a picture of the cupcakes before adding the icing.  Pretty!  Wish-Cake wishes mothers everywhere a very happy day tomorrow!

Today’s cupcakes were vanilla with pink vanilla buttercream frosting and rainbow sprinkles.  They were ordered via the Build-Your-Own option on our website. We’re starting to get excited about Spring and summery flavored cupcakes!

And we haven’t forgotten about the Pirate Cupcakes! We hope to be baking and delivering them late next week and we’ll be sure to add photos to our blog!

Yesterday’s Delivery

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

Yesterday I had the privilege to deliver 4 dozen cupcakes to an office in Philadelphia.  They were for the 29th birthday of a very hard working man and his staff!  His mother responded with feedback about the cupcakes, “By far, the biggest hit was cookie dough.  Standard Chocolate was also a big winner.”  Apparently everyone in his office sang happy birthday and embarrassed him.  (Cupcakes bring only the good kind of embarrassment!)  Enjoy these photos!  They ordered chocolate chip cookie dough (top), banana cupcakes with orange cream cheese frosting (below), lemon cupcakes with yellow lemon buttercream frosting (below middle) and chocolate cupcakes with chocolate buttercream frosting (bottom middle).

Mom\'s Birthday/Retirement Lemon Cupcakes with Lemon Buttercream Frosting

Today is a mixed day for my mom.  She’s both turning another year older as well as retiring.  Although she’s been looking forward to retirement for quite some time (she resigned a year ago today!) she is sort of sad.  She said it feels as if today is similar to a viewing after a loved one passes away.  One of the definitions for retirement is, afterall, the ”removal or withdrawal from service, office, or business.”  http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/retirement  As mom moves into this new stage in her life I wish her all the best.  I know she’ll make the most of it.  Today is not your viewing, mom.  You are very much alive and have all the love and support in the world!  Enjoy this new chapter!

Above are photos of lemon cupcakes with lemon buttercream frosting.  They’ll be joining mom at her retirement Open House today!
