Before frosting -

After frosting -

They look so cheery, don’t they?  Check out our Fudge Frosted cupcakes on the Wish-Cake website!

A side note – If you’re in the Philadelphia area today…GO OUTSIDE!  What about the weather, eh?  After more than a few days of super cold and damp we’re happy to see the weather taking a positive turn.  Get outside and do something!  And then eat a cupcake!

Making Wishes – Wishbone Wishing – Installment 4

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

Today is the 18th and I’m right on time (surprisingly) to remind some of us how to wish.  My first few installments have included dandelion wishing, birthday candle wishing and shooting star wishing.  Today’s topic — please notice my attempt at being timely — wishbone wishing!!

As Thanksgiving rapidly approaches a lot of us are thinking about such things as adequately cooking the turkey without it getting too dry, making pies like our best baker relative made and not forgetting the cranberry sauce.  (BTW – There’s a good song, “Christmas Wrapping” by the Waitresses which is all about forgetting the cranberry sauce for Christmas.  I highly recommend it around the holidays.)  If you are one of those folks who cooks a whole turkey for the holiday don’t forget to make a wish on the wishbone!  The theory is this…make a wish with another person on a wishbone.  Then have each person take an end of the wishbone and pull until it breaks. The person with the largest piece of bone gets the “lucky break” and the wish.

Good luck!!!!  I’d love to hear if any of those wishes come true!!

Cupcake Camp Philadelphia 2008

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

Katie and Dana from Open Source Cupcakes hosted Cupcake Camp on Sunday, November 16.  It was a wonderful event dedicated to people who like to bake (and eat!) cupcakes.  I made cookie dough, pumpkin spice,  and a modified version of the Princess cupcake.  Here is a photo of my flavors at Cupcake Camp!

Chocolate Cupcakes

This is one of my favorite cupcake photos of all time.  You may recognize it someday on a wish-cake.com advertisement or postcard.  I made these cupcakes for a friend to show him how good our cupcakes are!  He was very satisfied!
